Louise Odier

Rose name: Louise Odier

Other names: Madame de Stella, Madame Louise Odier

Hybridizer: Jaques- Julien Margottin père

Country: France

Introduced: 1851

Type: Bourbon rose

Colour: deep pink/lilac

Height: 100-200 cm

Fragrance: strong old rose fragrance

Flower size, open: 7-8 cm

Disease resistance: susceptible to black spot and powdery mildew

Growing in containers: not sure because of the size, but I am going to try it

Blooming: repeat blooming in flushes

In my garden: Beautiful round flowers, repeat bloomer with that incredible old rose fragrance – what more can one wish for? It has relatively thin stalks and flowers are heavy with a tendency to droop – it should look great in a large raised container/urn. Shade tolerant, which is a big plus. Good for cut flowers.
